Ensembles are where students and community members can play music together regularly.

Workshops are group lessons where students learn songs, technique and music notation & music theory together.

We plan to offer Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Small Groups, Chamber Ensembles, and Choirs.

What ages do you teach?

We welcome students of all ages, from children as young as 5 to adults of any age.

What instruments do you teach?

All the instruments we currently offer are available on the Book a Lesson page. If you do not see the instrument you’re looking for, please fill out the form on the Waitlist page to express interest.

How long are the lessons?

Our lessons are 45 or 60 minutes long, providing ample time for personalized instruction tailored to your musical goals.

Do you offer 30 min Lessons?

No, teachers and students overwhelmingly agree it is not enough time to connect with the students.

Do I need to own an instrument?

Yes. If you are not ready to commit to purchasing an instrument, we recommend Tim’s Music for rentals.

Do you offer group lessons?

Yes, we offer both private one-on-one lessons and group lessons known as workshops. Please contact us directly for more information on group lessons.

What styles of music do you teach?

While we are most enthusiastic about jazz, we welcome students interested in classical, contemporary, and everything in between.

Can I schedule a trial lesson?

Single lessons can be booked on our Book a Lesson page. If you continue with a monthly membership, the cost of the lesson will be subtracted from the first month’s fee.

How do I enroll?

All available times for your instrument are available on our Book a Lesson page. If you do not see your instrument, please express interest by filling out the form on the Waitlist page.

Are there any prerequisites for enrolling in certain classes or programs?

There are no prerequisites for beginner private lessons and workshops. For ensembles and Shed Sessions, there is an expectation that you have an understanding of your instrument and can read music.

What will the lessons cover?

To cultivate well-rounded musicians, we cover technique, music reading, ear training, practice strategies, and performance practice.

Can I request specific days or times for my lessons?

We are open 2-7pm on weekdays, 11-4 pm on weekends. All days and times are subject to teacher availability.

What is your termination policy for lessons?

Our policy requires a 30-day written notice for lesson termination. Cancellations between the 1st and 15th incur no additional fees, but those after incur an $80 membership cancellation fee. Cancellations must be emailed to [email protected].

What is your policy on missed lessons or make-up lessons?

Missed lessons or make-up lessons require students to give at least 48 hours’ notice for eligibility. Without proper notice, make-up lessons or refunds are forfeited.

Are there any requirements or expectations for students (practice time, attendance, etc.)?

Yes, there is an expectation of consistent practice outside of lessons. We will be working with students and their families to ensure that practice routines are appropriate for each students’ needs.

Do you offer any resources or materials for students to use outside of lessons?

Yes, a repertoire of books will be provided by the teacher.

Do you host recitals, concerts, or other performance events?

Yes, there will be performance opportunities in our ensemble room, and seasonal offsite performances.
