Benno has had the opportunity to perform at venues such as Smalls\, Jazz at Lincoln Center – Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola\, The Iridium\, Mintons Playhouse in Harlem\, Nublu\, Ornithology\, The Velvet Note (Alpharetta\, Georgia)\, Westport Jazz and Dock Street (Ireland)\, Jazz on Main\, and St. Peter’s Church\, among others. Benno has shared the stage with musicians like Grant Stewart\, Vincent Herring\, Jimmy Madison\, Warren Chiasson\, Clovis Nicolas\, Erena Terakubo\, Mark Whitfield\, Fukushi Tainaka\, Grant Green Jr.\, Eric Wheeler\, Marcus McLaurine\, the New York Voices\, Chris Potter\, and Bill Charlap with the WPUNJ Big Band. Greg Grocholski (trumpet)\, Mateo Ruiz (tenor sax)\, Chet Chwalik (piano)\, Rob Lemas (bass)\, Scott Gordon (drums) are killer Sacramento based musicians who have played various local spots such as the Torch Club\, 58 Degrees and Holding\, and Twin Lotus Thai. Bringing in the classic fast paced jazz sound from the 1960’s with Freddie Hubbard\, Jazz Messengers\, and Miles Davis tunes\, this group of musicians will get you out of your seat. \nAt the Center \nThe Center for Musical Arts proudly presents our “at the Center” concert series\, where our goal is to give Sacramento musicians the event space they deserve. Playing a mix of jazz and other Black American Music genres\, they are going to do a collection of their own originals and arrangements. A drummer not only for his own projects\, but also working at local Catholic Churches\, and playing with the Reggie Graham trio\, Ronin has left his mark across Sacramento’s musical space.
