DESCRIPTION:The Bridge is a hard-driving post bop jazz quintet\, focused on the music of Freddie Hubbard\, Joe Henderson\, and other great bop artists. \nThis group of musicians have been playing together for years\, bonded by the creation of intense\, driving bop music. Greg Grocholski (trumpet)\, Mateo Ruiz (tenor sax)\, Chet Chwalik (piano)\, Rob Lemas (bass)\, Scott Gordon (drums) are killer Sacramento based musicians who have played various local spots such as the Torch Club\, 58 Degrees and Holding\, and Twin Lotus Thai. Bringing in the classic fast paced jazz sound from the 1960’s with Freddie Hubbard\, Jazz Messengers\, and Miles Davis tunes\, this group of musicians will get you out of your seat. \nAt the Center \nThe Center for Musical Arts proudly presents our “at the Center” concert series\, where our goal is to give Sacramento musicians the event space they deserve. Music school by day\, concert venue by night—our listening room features a stage\, baby grand piano\, and an intimate 30-seat capacity.

DESCRIPTION:Aidan Smith is a skilled drummer whose music has been on stage several times backing great bands here at CMA such as Alex Makeev\, the Soleil Collective\, and Cindy Huang. An absolute mainstay of the local jazz scene\, he is stepping out from the drummer’s usual place to show off his own group. Having performed at other Sacramento staples such as the Torch Club\, they are a show to not be missed. DESCRIPTION:Created by students at Sac State\, The Phan Club consists of Mason Head (Trumpet)\, Jayden McCain (Tenor Sax)\, Parker Weis (Tenor Sax)\, Chet Chwalik (Piano)\, Andrew Mendoza (Bass)\, and Steven Phan (Drums). This large ensemble has performed around Sacramento including the Capistrano Music Hall. Individually each of these musicians have contributed greatly to Sacramento’s music scene\, and to see these great musicians together will be a night that cannot be missed.
